Our mission

To educate, equip, and encourage students through biblical teaching, helping them know God’s Word, grow in their relationship with Him, and live out their faith in everyday life.

Our vision

Every student in Scioto County and beyond has the opportunity to know God’s Word and follow Jesus with their whole life: upward toward God, inward in character, and outward in service.

Our story

In 2022, one of my mentors, Mickey Bane, passed away after a battle with cancer. Mickey lived a life on mission: to share Christ with anyone he encountered. Even in the midst of pain and suffering, he remained faithful to that calling until the very end.

One of the final messages Mickey preached was centered on three simple yet powerful words: Upward, Inward, Outward.

He used the image of a compass to illustrate this message. A compass directs, guides, and leads us toward our destination. In honor of the way he lived fully on mission, Compass was dedicated to him. That legacy continues to shape and inspire Compass School Ministries today.
